Carey Meyers is the Director of Communications at the Helmsley Charitable Trust, leading communications and strategic efforts to further drive the impact of Helmsley’s grantmaking.

Carey has more than 20 years of international program and communications experience across the philanthropic, nonprofit, and private sectors. Prior to joining Helmsley, Carey was based at The Rockefeller Foundation where she led strategic communications planning across the health, food security, and resilience portfolios. As a steward of the Foundation’s 100-plus year-old brand, she oversaw communications planning for the Asia and Africa regional offices, and led the high-impact launches of signature Rockefeller Foundation initiatives, including 100 Resilient Cities, YieldWise, and Co-Impact. Before moving into communications roles at Porter Novelli and EngenderHealth, Carey began her career at The Population Council as part of the program team that, through research, evaluation, and advocacy, sparked the global movement to improve the lives of adolescent girls and stop child marriage.

Carey earned her bachelor's degree at Wellesley College, and holds a Master of Public Health in sociomedical sciences from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health.
